Personal Training Manager
Josh holds a BS in Physical Education/Exercise Science from the University of Vermont. He is NASM-CPT; CPR/AED; Pre/Post Natal; MMA conditioning certified. His areas of expertise include: Weight loss, endurance training, strength training, circuit/high intensity training & athletic/sport training, and his personal mantra is “strong fixes everything”. Some of his biggest accomplishments are finishing his first half marathon in under 2 hours, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in college, participating in the Big Brother program & participating in and raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis “Great Strides” Walk every April.
Kendall Square CrossFit Head Coach + Personal Trainer
Jared is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Since he was a child, Jared has always been involved in exercise from playing sports to participating in his mother’s step aerobics class. He followed these hobbies in to college to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Exercise Science and found his passion in fitness and helping others achieve their fitness goals and improve overall health. In addition to his BS and NSCA-CSCS cert, over the last 6 years Jared as deepened his array of knowledge by participating in courses including Kettlebell Concepts Level 1 Coach, CrossFit Level 1 coach, Les Mills: BodyPump, RPM, and CXWorx. During these years in the fitness field, Jared has helped many individuals achieve their health goals. From Mothers-to-be or post-partum, rehab clients, athletes, and weight loss specific, Jared has been there to motivate. During his free time, Jared loves to push himself just like he pushes his clients. He finds CrossFit workouts are the best method to achieve great fitness for him. One of his goals is to compete in the CrossFit Games in California. Outside of teaching his classes during the week, Jared participates in CAC’s basketball league in the evening. The area Jared is working on the most is his golf game!
Josh holds a BS in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State University where he also minored in Nutrition and Biology as well as completing the pre-physical therapy track. He is currently pursuing an MS in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology with a dual specialization in Sports Conditioning and Orthopedic Rehabilitation with future aspirations to attain a doctorate. He has earned a CPT through the American College of Sports Medicine and is also First Aid & CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association. Josh has also been an avid martial arts practitioner for 12+ years holding multiple black belts among other ranks in various systems. His number of positions in a multitude of fitness facilities as well as his formal education has allowed Josh to gain a solid understanding and knowledge of the business as a whole which he uses to assist his clients in reaching their goals.
Personal Trainer + Crossfit Coach
Meaghan holds a Masters degree in Applied Exercise Physiology from Columbia University-Teachers College as well as several certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), Medical Exercise Specialist (AAHFRP-MES), Certified Personal Trainer (ACE-CPT), Pre/Post Natal Trainer and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1). She discovered her love for fitness while playing collegiate softball and fell into the industry shortly after graduating. She was a practicing fitness professional in New York City for 13 years before recently moving to Cambridge and joining the team at CAC. While in New York, Meaghan grew to be the Director of Education at a school for aspiring fitness professionals as well as for a staff of 20+ trainers, overseeing curriculum and instructing on the science and application of exercise science to professional personal training. She has also had roles in fitness media, previously serving as a Fitness Editor and contributing writer for several fitness magazines. It was through these many different roles that she came to appreciate the underlying importance of education and communication to helping people achieve their goals – whatever they may be – and she continues striving to emphasize these attributes to each of her clients. After over a decade in NYC, Meaghan is excited to continue her fitness career in her home state. She hopes to also find a local softball league and continue playing the sport that originally sparked her love of fitness.
Tanner’s love for sports and fitness started at a very young age. Having come from a family with a number of professional athletes, Tanner was always very fitness oriented. He grew up playing and participating in a number of different sports such as basketball, baseball, football, and soccer. Tanner started to accompany his father to the gym at the age of 12 in hopes of enhancing his performance in sport. He has been training and challenging himself ever since. After the first visit he knew he eventually wanted to make a living in fitness. In high school Tanner played baseball and basketball and was awarded “most athletic” in school. It was during high school that he started to uncover a real passion… powerlifting . From the age of 15 to 22, Tanner and his father competed in powerlifting meets. Throughout his years in powerlifting he was exposed to a variety of training techniques from top tier athletes from around the World and USA, including a two time world bench press champion of whom Tanner had the ability to work and train with. Tanner is a two-time state bench press champion and a national qualifier. Tanner also played Rugby for four years at Elon University, where he was the captain and “team trainer,” putting his teammates through rigorous endurance and strength training regiments ultimately leading to 3 state titles. Tanner specializes in sport specific performance, powerlifting, strength and endurance training, as well as weight loss. In his spare time, besides training himself, Tanner loves to stay busy. He enjoys hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, water-skiing, and basically anything active outdoors. Tanner is Canadian and his love for hockey knows no bounds. He thoroughly enjoys the Bruins.
Sara is a graduate of Lasell College with a B.S. in Athletic Training. She had the opportunity to
gain experience working with collegiate and high school level athletes throughout her college career. During her time at Lasell, she completed 6 clinical rotations over a period of 3 years, working with the sports medicine teams at a variety of schools including Harvard University, College of the Holy Cross, Brandeis University, Wellesley College, Saint Sebastian’s High School and Lasell College. Her junior year, Sara got certified for personal training through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and began working in small group fitness. She has helped a number of clients work towards their health and fitness goals, from weight loss to strength training. After a year working in a small group setting, Sara decided that she wanted to pursue a job where she can work more personally with clients in a one on one setting, and joined our team here at CAC. Sara has a special interest in helping clients with their personal fitness goals and pulls from her background in athletic training to incorporate concepts of injury
prevention and corrective exercise. Sara is a BOC certified athletic trainer and plans to obtain her CSCS certification for strength and conditioning as the next step in her career.
Personal Trainer + Registered Dietitian
Robin holds a Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield College. During her time there, she was a part of the strength and conditioning staff as a Graduate Assistant, working with the men's lacrosse, women's gymnastics, field hockey, and diving programs, as well as the Head Sports Dietitian for all teams. Upon completion of her degree, Robin was hired as an Assistant Professor, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Coordinator of Sports Nutrition at Springfield College. As the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, she helped with supervising all strength and conditioning programs for the Prides' 24 varsity teams, and specifically worked with the men’s lacrosse and field hockey programs. As Coordinator of Sports Nutrition, she provided individual nutrition counseling, team talks, grocery store and dining hall tours, and cooking demos for all varsity athletes. Robin has presented at various speaking engagements on nutrition, with the most notable at the NSCA Connecticut State Clinic on “Performance Nutrition Strategies for the Collegiate Athlete.” Currently, Robin is an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sports Dietitian at Boston University. There, she develops strength training programs, and provides nutrition education for the women’s lacrosse, women’s open weight rowing, cross country, and track and field programs.
Robin completed her undergraduate education at Queens College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science. She then finished her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP). Upon completion of the internship, she continued with NYP as a nutrition fellow and then temporary full-time dietitian working with patients with eating disorders. Robin then worked at Hospital for Special Surgery as a clinical nutritionist. During her time in New York City, she was also a practicing fitness professional for 10 years.
Robin’s passion for training and health developed from her love for dance. She has over 20 years of dance and performance experience, with extensive training in modern, jazz, and tap. Prior to beginning her career in nutrition and fitness, Robin attended The American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City where she received a certificate of completion in Musical Theater. Currently, Robin dances and performs with a contemporary dance company here in Boston.
Joe is a graduate from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a B.S. in Exercise and Health Science, is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has his USA Olympic Weightlifting Level certification. During/after college, he has worked in multiple physical therapy clinics and hopes to eventually obtain his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Joe got into fitness because of martial arts and has been hooked ever since. He has done Tang Soo Do, Boxing, Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also has experience programming for adaptive populations, specifically Radial Dysplasia. In his free time he likes playing drums, hiking/biking outside and food!
Michael holds a B.S in Exercise Science from Lasell College. Since graduation he has been working in a physical therapy clinic as a rehabilitation technician. He had the opportunity to assist in the rehab of all kinds of injuries for the general population to college athletes and Boston Broadway dancers. He has recently obtained his Strength and Conditioning Certification from the NSCA. He will be an intern at the Harvard Strength and Conditioning program soon where he will assist in training the athletes to optimal performance. Michael’s experience in Physical Therapy and Strength Training allows him to mix functional training, corrective exercise and resistance training to achieve his client’s fitness goals and most importantly, improve their daily lives.
Michael’s love for fitness has allowed him to explore all sorts of exercise options. He grew up in Boston competing in martial arts, soccer and swimming. Now he has completed the BAA half marathon, and has won best team costume 2 years in a row for the Harpoon 5 miler race. He currently participates in basketball and soccer leagues and ice skates on his free time.
Matt is an ACE certified personal trainer and Human Movement Specialist through the Brookbush Institute. He started his training career in college while studying under a C.S.C.S as he interned doing performance training for high school and college athletes. Growing up overweight, Matt has his own personal weight loss journey of losing over 70lbs, so he understands the battle weight-loss can be. Matt enjoys working with his clients to restore range of motion and strength through corrective exercise. Matt was an accomplished college rugby player at Umass Lowell where he captained his team to 2 championships and is still the all time leading scorer in the Rugby Northeast conference. Matt now coaches rugby at Umass Lowell and plays rugby 7's for the Lowell Highlanders, who are 2 time champions in their first two seasons!
