Personal Training Director
Josh holds a BS in Physical Education/Exercise Science from the University of Vermont. He is NASM-CPT; CPR/AED; Pre/Post Natal; MMA conditioning certified.
His areas of expertise include: Weight loss, endurance training, strength training, circuit/high intensity training & athletic/sport training, and his personal mantra is “strong fixes everything”.
Some of his biggest accomplishments are finishing his first half marathon in under 2 hours, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in college, participating in the Big Brother program & participating in and raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis “Great Strides” Walk every April.
Kendall Square CrossFit Director/ Certified Personal Trainer
Jared is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Since he was a child, Jared has always been involved in exercise from playing sports to participating in his mother’s step aerobics class. He followed these hobbies in to college to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Exercise Science and found his passion in fitness and helping others achieve their fitness goals and improve overall health. In addition to his BS and NSCA-CSCS cert, over the last 6 years Jared as deepened his array of knowledge by participating in courses including Kettlebell Concepts Level 1 Coach, CrossFit Level 1 coach, Les Mills: BodyPump, RPM, and CXWorx. During these years in the fitness field, Jared has helped many individuals achieve their health goals. From Mothers-to-be or post-partum, rehab clients, athletes, and weight loss specific, Jared has been there to motivate.
During his free time, Jared loves to push himself just like he pushes his clients. He finds CrossFit workouts are the best method to achieve great fitness for him. One of his goals is to compete in the CrossFit Games in California. Outside of teaching his classes during the week, Jared participates in CAC’s basketball league in the evening. The area Jared is working on the most is his golf game!
Personal Trainer/ CrossFit Coach
Emily is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS). Sports and fitness has always been a passion of hers, so it was unsurprising when Emily decided to take a career path in the industry. In 2012, Emily received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Hofstra University. While in undergrad, Emily became involved in CrossFit, and, in 2011, she became certified at a Level 1 trainer. To gain more knowledge in the field, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science at Northeastern University. While studying for her Master’s, Emily interned with Northeastern’s Strength and Conditioning program, working with the university’s Division 1 men’s and women’s hockey, basketball, and soccer teams. Ultimately, Emily remained passionate about CrossFit, holding a coaching position for some time at CrossFit Coolidge Corner in Brookline.
Emily’s passions lie in helping clients build strength and functionality to be translated into daily life, sports performance, Olympic lifts, high-intensity training, and mobility. During her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, hitting a CrossFit workout, or watching football.
Certified Personal Trainer
Eric is an American College of Sports Medicine (A.C.S.M) Certified Personal Trainer/Professional Fitness Trainer. Eric has been training himself intensely since the age of 13 in order to enhance his performance in sport. In his junior year of HIgh School Eric was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, and underwent multiple surgeries and one year of chemotherapy. This experience had a very profound effect on him and he decided to pursue a career that would lead him to research cancer drugs.
Eric attended Boston University to study Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and in his second year- under the advice of his manager at BU’s fitness center where he held a work study job- he became an ACSM certified personal trainer and began training people Immediately he fell in love with helping people better themselves physically and psychologically, and the intimate relationships formed through personal training. Changing lives through physical and mental fitness became his greatest desire and so Eric switched his course of studies to earn a degree in Applied Exercise Science.
Eric has vast experience training in everything from yoga to powerlifting, pre and post natal to bodybuilding, young children and athletes to seniors with spinal issues and other ailments, as well as underweight, overweight, and obese people. Eric specializes in Large Scale Body Transformation- helping people lose 50-100lbs or more, and has had great success in doing that, with two 100lbs and five 50+lbs weight loss clients thus far. He also specializes in sport performance enhancement training
In his free time, Eric loves to read literature, to study music and compose and play music (classical, jazz, folk, and others). He loves the outdoors and hikes as much as he can. Eric also loves to research and study more about the human body and physical fitness, always trying to better himself as a trainer, and he loves to practice yoga and slackline (tight rope walking). Finally, Eric loves to train himself to his limits and continues to enhance his performance in Motocross racing.

Tanner’s love for sports and fitness started at a very young age. Having come from a family with a number of professional athletes, Tanner was always very fitness oriented. He grew up playing and participating in a number of different sports such as basketball, baseball, football, and soccer. Tanner started to accompany his father to the gym at the age of 12 in hopes of enhancing his performance in sport. He has been training and challenging himself ever since. After the first visit he knew he eventually wanted to make a living in fitness.
In high school Tanner played baseball and basketball and was awarded “most athletic” in school. It was during high school that he started to uncover a real passion… powerlifting . From the age of 15 to 22, Tanner and his father competed in powerlifting meets. Throughout his years in powerlifting he was exposed to a variety of training techniques from top tier athletes from around the World and USA, including a two time world bench press champion of whom Tanner had the ability to work and train with. Tanner is a two-time state bench press champion and a national qualifier. Tanner also played Rugby for four years at Elon University, where he was the captain and “team trainer,” putting his teammates through rigorous endurance and strength training regiments ultimately leading to 3 state titles.
After University, Tanner spent five years in the corporate world where he most recently was a Healthcare Recruiter. He could no longer ignore his passion and love for fitness and therefore decided to change his own life making his way back to the fitness world.
Tanner specializes in sport specific performance, powerlifting, strength and endurance training, as well as weight loss.
In his spare time, besides training himself, Tanner loves to stay busy. He enjoys hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, water-skiing, and basically anything active outdoors. Tanner is Canadian and his love for hockey knows no bounds. He thoroughly enjoys the Bruins.
Ryan has long had a passion for athletics. Prior to high school he grew up playing both organized and back yard sports which includes baseball, football, basketball and volleyball. In high school he continued to play baseball and football. At UMass Lowell he began spending more time in the gym along with receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. Ryan has experience working with all ages and fitness levels as an Intern at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning. He later gained experience working with high school and college athletes as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with Holy Cross’ Jeff Oliver’s Jacked on the Hill summer program. In Ryan’s spare time he enjoys playing pick-up street hockey, going on road trips, reading up on the latest exercises, and attending as many Red Sox games as he can.

Ben, a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS, 3-times and currently re-certified with distinction), is also a USA Track and Field and USA Weightlifting Coach. A firm believer in valid, reliable, relevant evidence-based research being the foundation for all exercise prescriptions, Ben subscribes to numerous journals, and routinely attends symposia and other opportunities to stay abreast of what the world of human performance researchers are learning every day. He began working as a personal trainer at CAC in 2004 and has thoroughly enjoyed helping scores of clients achieve their goals here for a decade now.
A 1992 graduate of Canton High School, Ben was described as a chubby kid until his mid-teens. Upon discovering an old weight set of his Dad’s, Ben began working out and has made doing so a crucial part of his life ever since. Ben graduated from Georgia Tech in 1996, is a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He began training back in 1998, that same year he began competing in powerlifting meets. Over the years he has been a 7-time state-level powerlifting champion and set 2 national records. Paradoxically, Ben has also run three Boston Marathons and is presently a member of Mass Velocity Track Club competing in the 60m, 100m and 200m.
As the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New England Intensity, a women’s professional tackle football team from 2005-2103, Ben helped that team improve from 1-9 (in 2005) to playing in three consecutive Conference Championship games (2011, 2012 and 2013).
Ben’s full-time job consists of Project Management for the UniFirst Corporation (a multi-national, billion-dollar industrial laundry company) that has him taking over 200 flights per year. He lives in Dedham with his wife and two daughters. Ben enjoys spending time with those close to him, shooting (he has been a competitive marksmanship instructor and competitor), golfing, skiing and making obscure song and movie references.
